it doesn't work well wireless, but works really well if directly wired to your router.

Hmm, okay. I was thinking of picking one up for another room, but I'm not going to run an ethernet cord to it. Oh well.

Works okay wireless for me. Was even able to play games like Dark Souls III and Bayanetta.

I will agree that a wired connection is optimal though.

This can't be right. What's the point in having it if it has to be plugged into the router? Who's TV is next to the router?!

Mine is. I also have one of those extremely long Ethernet extenders that are a dozen meters long that can span several rooms. I don't see the need for steam link though since i can connect my computer to the TV anyway.

Mine is. But even if yours isn't there are always PowerLine adapters.

I haven't set mine up yet, but at only 20 CAD I couldn't resist picking one up.

My PC is wireless, but the Steam Link will be wired. The wireless bottleneck is still there, but at least it's only on one half.

Mine isn't. I don't have a Steam link, but I do have an ethernet cable running from my router to my TV area through the walls and along the basement ceiling for consoles and cable box.
