Works okay wireless for me. Was even able to play games like Dark Souls III and Bayanetta.

I also have one of those extremely long Ethernet extenders that are a dozen meters long that can span several rooms. I haven't set mine up yet, but at only 20 CAD I couldn't resist picking one up.
My PC is wireless, but the Steam Link will be wired. The wireless bottleneck is still there, but at least it's only on one half. --- Got questions about schoolwork?
