I think composition matters way more than actually singing it or whatever. If you have a great singer, usually terrible composition can't save it. But even a mediocre singer with a well composed song will still sound great.

Otherwise the singer is just there for branding/icon and not because of their musical talent. Of course they have their own unique timbre and sound and range which add to it, but really they're just there to hit notes within the confines of the song.

Do I wish music were better? Yeah. But it is what it is. I not gonna knock someone's talent just cause the industry fell into oblivion

The only artists I respect are Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and that guy who did the urinal sculpture.

Basically I'm saying that an actor isn't credited for more than what they do but a lot of singers are. Even if Leo is your favorite part of a Scorsese movie, it's not like you think that Leo came up with everything. You still know he's an actor, and movies literally accredit everyone who had a part. With singers, it's just assumed they're the ones who came up with everything when sometimes they literally only sing and even have to get their lyrics heavily tweaked.

Also I feel it's easier to fake singing ability than acting ability

Art is collaborative in nature. Just seems like you're specifically put off by artists who claim to do all their own work. Which in this day and age is easily verifiable. Like everyone knows Taylor Swift writes her own songs...with a team of writers and producers.
