Lmao. What a colossal waste of money. I know cooking is your hobby but generally a pan is a pan. What does this $160 pan do that $13 pan doesn't

Realistically, how much better is that food gonna be. Also what kinda longevity are we talking here. I've had cookware for years that I didn't spend more than $20 dollars. Are we talking about lifetime use?

The scanpan prob won't last a lifetime, since they are coated, but it's one of the best coated ones out there (can use metallic objects on it without too much danger etc) basically just don't sear meat with really hot pan (even that can work for awhile). But I think it should be at least 3 years. It has 10 year guarantee for fabrication errors.

The stainless ones should have a very long lifetime.

I'm gonna get a cast iron too eventually, but I think I'll have that as a pot casserole, since you can do pretty much anything in that too.

Cast iron is amazing and inexpensive, I can't believe you don't own a single piece with how much you like to cook. I love my cast iron skillet. I also just picked up an enameled dutch oven the other day.

I don't own anything. I cook with the things at the house. They usually buy cheap pans that work for like a half a year or something, I use the cast iron one for high heat cooking.

I'm starting to buy some kitchen stuff now so when I get my own place I have good set of things. Cast iron isn't best with everything tho.

What isn't cast iron good for? The only real drawback I'm aware of is that you shouldn't constantly cook acidic foods with it

@DifferentialEquation

Well personally I dont like the heaviness and I feel they arent as flexible with heat control, I like when I can get it colder quick for better temperature controll.
