It seemed like they were basically trying to make Cyborg's powers like Blue Beetle's powers, and Blue Beetle would have actually had an interesting backstory instead of the stupid one that Cyborg had.

Just about anyone would've been better than Cyborg. All Cyborg's presence means is that we're never getting a Teen Titans movie.

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm guessing they didn't want heroes with back stories. Take too much time away from the Snyder-esque spectacle.

Should have used Static. They decided to make a push for Cyborg when they wanted to make a new JL character and introduced him into their League with retcons back k. The early 10s but they just as easily could have used Static who is much more interesting. Aw well.
