At the beginning of the movie when he was talking to those kids was top tier.

Also loved the justice line when he punched steppenwolf

I would agree there. He almost feels like an entirely different character from BvS and MoS, but looking at this movie on its own I enjoyed Superman's portrayal in this.

I don't understand why he was mad at Batman, even in BvS when Batman had him down preparing to kill him, he wasn't angry. They seemed to bond quickly after that, but then he hates batman now. Also, I thought for sure the situation would be diffused by Batman mentioning Martha to him.

Yeah this is bullshit. He even joked with bats on BvS (the 'is she with you?.. I thought she was with you?' line ) Bats also saved his mom.
