let's assume comcast wins and they're like "FUCK NETFLIX, FUCK HULU, FUCK YOUTUBE, FUCK PLAYSTATION VUE, FUCK SLING, FUCK IT ALL! HAHAHAHA" and blocks it or charges you double the rate.

would that lead to "normal" people dropping those services? and do you think itll lead to more piracy again? and with the increased piracy, an increase in software to hide what you download like VPNs?

You assume that torrent traffic isn't going to get harshly traffic-shaped soon as well.

Worst case, is that video above 480 or 720 is going to be "held hostage" like it is on mobile networks. Cutting those services out entirely will just start riots.

most people are not gonna pay extra for the same services they had before. or pay for new ones that aren't as good. over a decade ago people pirated basically everything before things like steam, etc. I think we're gonna see people finding ways around paying for the new services

i mean, yeah. but if they can't tell what that traffic is cuz of a vpn or let's say, a new software (illegal or legal), what could they do?

i guess cut off your service.. but they could do that now huh...

hm.. what will happen if another company pops up and says "hey we aren't assholes". will they be able/willing to switch?
