any antenna will do, you don't need ones marketed specifically as HD

Back when I had Dish they dropped Cartoon Network and a bunch of Turner networks, I was okay with it... then they dropped local free-to-air stations and that's when I pulled the plug and got a HD antenna
Whenever I'm at work flipping through channels on Direct TV or at the in-laws I just shake my head in disgust over all the paid advertisements.. if 1/4 of channels are ads (2/4 being locked movies/sports channels and the other 1/4 being repeats) shouldnt I get cable/satellite for free .. or even start getting paid to watch that garbage? --- Not changing my sig until Nintendo announces the Switch XL 1/12/2017 ... if the channel doesn't want to pay to be on that service anymore, due to the service demanding more money or something, then they can just not renew their contract and now the channel and all its affiliate channels are now removed from that service i don't imagine it'll be long before it's back though, CBS is one of the big three major channels. even though it's fucking free locally. but yeah, there's pretty much no reason to get cable or satellite anymore. everything can be found on some internet streaming service these days. if you have hulu, netflix, and a tv antenna, you really do not need cable or satellite, period. and sure, hulu might have ads if you don't pay for their ad-free version (that still has ads on some things, stupidly enough) it's still less ads overall than TV commercials --- "Dogs smell like they've had too much fun and need a bath Cats smell like espionage" - Mead ...
