Poll of the Day > I got a haircut yesterday, and it's been an interesting change.

I've been keeping my hair long-ish for a long time, but I haven't really done anything with it or been taking very good care of it. I finally got it cut yesterday, and all day my coworkers and regular customers say they barely recognize me and that I look like a whole different person.

I kind of feel a little different too. Before I always felt like I came off as sort of invisible, or strange at best. Now that I have a decent haircut there's nothing visually weird about me, which gives me a little more confidence and helped me come out of my shell a bit more. All day I had a little bit of pep in my step, and it felt like things were going great.

Im not sure why such a little thing had such an effect, but it feels kind of like I'm not shackled to the guy I was yesterday, which means Im free to be exactly who I want to be.

The top one supposed to be cosplay? Looks like regular clothes to me lulz. Also did you shave the goatee then as well or did you already have it shaved? Because if you cut your hair and shaved at the same time yeah, you do look pretty different between them.

It's usually 50/50 whether I have facial hair; I don't shave too often. Those two pics are extremes; I had a lot of facial hair because the character does, and I just shaved this morning.

A change in appearance can do that. Often guys with long hair stand out so folk notice you a lot thus when you get it cut short it's such a major change to what you used to look like that folk still continue to notice you. More often then not this will give you confidence. Just as any other major change in appearance that's not due to a accident or illness.

Personally I miss my long hair but feel better having it short as it's a lot less maintenance. That's not to say I won't ever grow it long again but for now I'll keep it short.
