Like what if he was set to appear in Hiroshima in 1944 and was just a little baby when we nuked him?

or he was an escaped slave and some people lynched him or something?

Will we know for sure when he's come or could he have come and gone already?

It's just not as special if it's like, his 6th try at this, ya know?

There's something kinda impressive about a second coming. Like he was here, and he left, but he's gonna be back in the nick of time to save us. That's the plot to a whole bunch of movies! That's dramatic and interesting.

If God's up there like "whoops, they killed another one. I'll try back in a few decades" then it loses some impact.

He doesn't hide the 2nd time. God is supposed to supernaturally make everyone on earth aware that yes, this is the real deal. And he's unkillable. he turns on God Mode when he comes back. Unlimited health and mana

Ok, but doesn't that happen after the Antichrist takes over? So what if we were accidentally killing the anti-christ? Could we keep putting off the apocalypse that way?

King Herod tried fending off a prophecy by killing babies. Didn't work.

Besides, why would you want to put off the apocalypse (and therefore the Second Coming)? Sometimes things have to get worse so that they can get better. :^)

So if I was alive during the apocalypse, and God popped up and was like "hey" I could convert and go to heaven?

That'd be nice.

Revelation talks about people of the world coming to Christ during the events of the Tribulation.

They tend to get beheaded for believing in Jesus, but they do get the gift of salvation.

Cool, I hope that shit happens when I'm around.

Tho seems a bit unfair that the peeps who are alive during armageddon know for sure that God is real and can just convert, while everyone before that has to go based on faith.

Most sects of Christianity that believe in Revelation as an actual apocalyptic prophecy tend to have the faithful Raptured either before the beginning of Tribulation, or before the worst events of Tribulation. Some denominations do believe that even the faithful are not reunited with Jesus until his full return, however.

So faith might equal a less shitty time. Good trade-off.
