What is there to talk about? Seems about the same as last year's game.

Up to Mallow's trial and there just isn't anything to talk about. It Sun/Moon story but with the occasional very small difference. At this point I'm not expecting change until the post game.

Guess I like the spread of Pokemon more this time around.

It's pretty much Sun and Moon with some tweaks but most of the new stuff during the early game is that there are a shit ton of little side events and quests, which I fucking love but judging by how no one else seems to acknowledge that as the best part of Black 2 and White 2 I doubt they'll care here either.

The only differences most people will notice are the occasional encounters with the Ultra Recon Squad, the new minigames, and the changed Totems. Maybe they'll notice Hau actually carries five Pokemon by the third island, or that you can actually lose to him without blacking out.

Nope, and it's not in the game. The closest is if you didn't box your starter it'll show up in some cutscenes, and there are some NPC Pokemon you can play around with and get to follow you around the area they're in.

They made the Rotom-Dex have depression >_>

I couldnt get into the game, every 2 minutes I was forced into doing stuff I didn't want to do.

The beginning moves much more quickly. You're on the first route in five minutes.

The hand holding is still there, though. As soon as you reach one of the early towns, the professor says "do whatever you want next," and then you're immediately greeted by an NPC roadblock and Lillie forcing you to go a certain direction. Pretty annoying.

I wish they had pokebank up for it. I really want to just bring out my lvl100 team and speed through this nonsense to postgame but I can't for 2 weeks >_>

Last one I played a little of was Y. And as that was it had been dumbed down quite a bit. Even taking into account these are kids games, it had been dumbed down.

I know 3 people that tried Sun/Moon and they hated it. The consensus there seemed to be that it was still simplified and that the gyms were gone. Which they hated quite a lot.
I'll give the Switch one a try but I'm not expecting much.

SuMo has too much talking and stripped a lot of the good stuff ORAS introduced for postgame training. I did love that they got rid of HMs and a few other features as well, but ORAS was more enjoyable.

Wouldn't even necessarily call it handholding, a lot of story stuff too and, since Pokemon story sucks, it's just tedious to listen to. But yeah, there is definitely also a great deal of needless tutorial nonsense. I hope the next gen tunes that way the hell down or gives us the option to skip over it.

My girlfriend and I are playing it. Enjoying it so far. I love all the little tweaks and remixed content. It's always a lot of fun noticing which things were changed.

I'm finishing up Omega Ruby first. Gonna snag up as many legendaries from that game as I can, and round out the rest in Ultra Sun/Moon
