It appears the biggest shock this year would be the shocking BOMB of DC's emsemble of Justice League which earned a SHOCKINGLY LOW 38.4M on Friday for only a 93.5M estimate weekend!!

Industry insiders thought it would make 110-120 based on the DC Hype of the Trailer which racked up millions but it appears the Ho Hum directing of Zack Snyder has come back to haunt him as this movie earned lower than Wonder Woman despite making more on its midnight preview on Thursday

The Dismal opening is shocking as the production of the movie was $300 MILLION + millions more for marketing...

Warner Brothers spent a lot on this movie and it was even lower than Batman V Superman which made a 166M Opening..

Perhaps Warner Brothers will finally fire Zack Snyder after critics have thrashed his movies, including other DC properties such as Suicide Squad.

Wonder Woman was the only bright spot....

Nope. The only good DC film as of late is Wonder Woman. I've not seen JL and still plan on watching it but I really hate how DC films seem to want to throw every super hero/villain they have into every film. Often too many cooks spoil the broth.

I actually liked Man of Steel. I didn't hate Batman v Superman quite as much as everyone else seemed to, but it was... not good. Wonder Woman was great, but I don't think anyone expected Justice League to be good.

Man of Steel was my least favorite out of all the new DC films. Superman might as well have the personality of a wet sock. I don't even remember a single line he said.

I saw almost no advertising for it. I had zero excitement for the film though. None of the DC universe movies have been above mediocre in my opinion.

It's shameful it's making that much money. I am surprised the movie's cost isn't higher, would've thought over $400 million.
Maybe with the terrible marketing. Cripes, those trailers were bad.

My guess would be that the guy generally makes a film that looks amazing until you see it, which puts asses in seats.

300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch, Man of Steel and BvS all had some seriously cool trailers, even though the quality of each of those films is very debatable to say the least.

Still it sucks that his movie appears to be a flop on top of everything his family is dealing with this year.

The pacing and editing were about the worst I've ever seen in a major release too.

Zack Snyder could probably direct a halfway decent Justice Lords movie, but the Justice League just doesn't really fit his general style.

Zack Snyder is the kiss of the death. Even the beloved Joss Whedon could only make people care so much. Oh, and everything except Wonder Woman has been objectively not good.

Im all for hating on the MCU, but at least its watchable.

Otherwise, with the way critics have attacked the film, it's not entirely surprising that it might have a poor showing. Personally, I'm looking forward to eventually seeing it.

Having not watched any of the recent DC movies im a little disappointed, i had planned to at some point, but reviews of most of them seems bad.

That's because they are bad. Do yourself a favor and skip them.

For some reason I thought the villain was going to be Darkseid and I have no idea who Stephenwolf is so I'm not surprised the movie will bomb.

They also got an identity problem with their superheroes. They've got TV shows based on Flash and Supergirl got a different Superman actor. It sounds like a bad idea to have different actors playing your most iconic characters in two different mediums.

Anyway I just watched JL and yeah it felt super uninspired :/

Even the action was average and not on par with batman vs superman. At least they got the combat in that done right.

I noticed this too and it seems unfortunate these movies are given a beating before the bulk of audience even get a chance to watch them. Hell, there have been plenty of movies on Rotten Tomatoes where the critics gave it a harsh review but the audience themselves enjoyed it.

Because being an average film made it by far the best DC movie so far. Lowered standards.

I found it OK for what it was, it was pretty enjoyable in the Humor and a couple of the fight scenes. Despite my usual dislike of Superman, I enjoyed him in the final fight, mainly that "Is this guy still bugging you?" or something before he smacked him around. lol.

Definitely better then Batman v Superman, IMO anyway.

Well, the historically-inaccurate viking helmet-wearing jackass with a mild case of Palpatine face that's in the movie is so far from the brilliant Jack Kirby-designed New God Steppenwolf that not knowing who Steppenwolf is would probably make the movie more enjoyable.

I thought the movie was decent enough. The second scene after the credits has me hyped up though. If they can get a decent director/writer for it, I think that movie will do well.

Lol not really, DC movies overall are pretty garbage because they were one afraid to involve anything too "comic-bookey". If it was not that then it was the Zack Synder approach where everything has to be dark and grim.

I'm kind of surprised because I though by now they'd have worked out where they were going wrong after suicide squad and BvS but apparently not.

To be fair, the bar was set pretty low for Wonder Woman, when you stack her against the other Zach Snyder movies. However, if you were trying to stack her against the Avengers / Marvel movies, she'd have a much tougher time (especially with the recent hits like Thor: Ragnarok).

In other words, she's only RELATIVELY good, compared to the other piles of crap in the series.
