It appears the biggest shock this year would be the shocking BOMB of DC's emsemble of Justice League which earned a SHOCKINGLY LOW 38.4M on Friday for only a 93.5M estimate weekend!!

Industry insiders thought it would make 110-120 based on the DC Hype of the Trailer which racked up millions but it appears the Ho Hum directing of Zack Snyder has come back to haunt him as this movie earned lower than Wonder Woman despite making more on its midnight preview on Thursday

The Dismal opening is shocking as the production of the movie was $300 MILLION + millions more for marketing...

Warner Brothers spent a lot on this movie and it was even lower than Batman V Superman which made a 166M Opening..

Perhaps Warner Brothers will finally fire Zack Snyder after critics have thrashed his movies, including other DC properties such as Suicide Squad.

Wonder Woman was the only bright spot...

I honestly had to look up when it was out. After the lackluster reception to the last four or five movies, I completely lost any motivation to see the DCEU or catch up.

It's in the same boat as the Justice League movie; it's trying to fight a battle three years too late that you can't win because your opponent isn't on the battlefield. The DCU is garbage and Snyder is a hack, but this movie honestly was pretty entrtaining. Its dumb, predictable, and has some truly terrible dialogue at times, but it was fun in an Avengers sort of way.

They need to stop making everything DARK and they need to forget about fucking origin stories. A moving cant be good if you spend 2/3s on the heroes origin and 1/3 on the actual plot.

Dark and serious superhero movie work, as shown by BB and TDK, even to some degree TDKR.

It is just the people behind these are idiot hacks. Which is shame because i like most of the cast choice.

Oh and they are movin too fast.

People have been saying this for years. How can you hage a JL movie when only 2 out of 5 have their movies. You gonna waste time introducing new characters than doing the plot itself, and be reminded that this is a mainstream audience, and while people know batman and superman, the others, even flash and WW need more time to be liked and known by the masses

I think some people get off on claiming a movie bombed. Someone would have to be a brand new type of stupid to have thought this would do anything other than ok at the box office. It's not even Thanksgiving weekend yet. Hollywood people should chill out. It will make it all back on home video anyways. Nobody is rushing to the theater to see this crap.

It's like WB thinks that the more money you toss at something the better it will be. Glad Hack Snyder is leaving, maybe we can finally have a good DCEU movie that isn't a Captain America knock off.

Superheroes are like that myth of the old west. You're fastest draw, then you get gunned down and nobody remembers your name. They're all praising the new fastest gun.

When Disney bought Marvel back in 2009 and announced that they'd be building up to an Avengers movie, I felt disappointed because they weren't the Justice League. Now, I know who the Avengers are and I don't care about Justice League because they're too little too late.

Even within Marvel's ranks, if you had told me any time before 2012 that Iron Man would be used to help sell a Spider-Man movie, I'd have laughed in your face. Yet, the posters for Spider-Man: Homecoming all feature Iron Man as if to say "Come see Spider-Man, it's got Iron Man in it!"

That one hits me right in the childhood. How did the guy with the UPN cartoon ever surpass Spider-Man? Oh, because of botched remakes and botched sequels. Whatever your history, you're only as good as your most recent exposure. Of course.

But it's just crazy how many times the top spot shifts from one hero to another and how some of the best wind up as trends in a given era. Case in point, Captain Marvel was more popular than Superman in the 1940s. Now, they can't even speak his rightful name because Fawcett Comics went under and they lost the copyright.

Batman looks like he might be heading for a slump. With a couple of bad films, trends shifting away from dark content in favor of humor, and general overexposure on his part, he might be heading for another down period like he had between Batman & Robin and Batman Begins.

I want them to do a proper Mr Freeze movie. The "Heart of Ice" backstory was so good that it even made Batman and Robin somewhat redeemable.

Sympathetic, redeemable villain. Straightforward "get revenge" motivation. It shows off Batman as a detective, as a superhero, and as a good, caring person, without the need for grim angst and brooding. Modern effects could do a lot of cool stuff with the freeze powers. You wouldn't need to CGI any characters much.

You could even re-introduce Robin. Everyone knows who he is, just start the movie with Batman and Robin having been working together for a few years. Or make it Batman and Nightwing and tease Ras, Talia, and Damian in a subplot to set up the next film.

Batman doesn't have to be as grim as TDK and Burton to be good. >_>

Ill probably buy it on blu-ray. BvS wasnt as terrible as people acted, I feel like this will probably be at least as good as that.

I dont expect it to be anywhere near on par with Marvel movies. Thats too high a bar to expect.

If anything it made me more hopeful about the DCEU, and this was the film that would either make or break the franchise for me.

Just got out of the theater. I actually really enjoyed it. It was worth my 8 bones
