WB and UPN were two of my favorite channels... honestly i miss the 90s TV era for the simple fact that each channel had it's own identity, now its all the same muddled shit.

Interestingly enough, UPN was also the studio that hosted Star Trek Voyager, a show typically not made to appeal to black audiences.

UPN was not a black channel, as you seem to think. It had some great shows I used to watch like Shasta McNasty, Roswell, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and WWF Smackdown!

They definitely found that niche to move on to as soon as 7th Heaven, Buffy and Dawson's Creek became popular

Never watched Martin either.

If these are better than the Jeffersons, they got to be top quality.

I never got into the WB shows because I just wasn't at the age I wanted to be watching corny sitcoms. I wanted to watch some fucking wrasslin', lol

I was a fan of the late 80's stuff (and reruns of older stuff) just as much as I was a fan of "white" ones, which honestly wasn't that many. I pretty much watched like 3/10 of the best shows during those times faithfully, and it was a pretty even mix.

Now days it's mostly white shit though, lol. Game of Thrones and Vikings. I'm just not really a huge TV show or movie guy

Fair enough, but at that point, it was pretty much entirely aimed at a black market except for Star Trek Voyager.

That was, in true MacFarlane fashion, what a white guy thought black sitcoms where. If anything, it was a parody.

To be fair, were most of those 90s black sitcoms actually written by black people? Too lazy to check.
