Like, apparently it was supposed to arrive at the facility it left from hours after leaving it? Apparently VA to PA back to VA made sense to get it to OH >_> but I dunno how UPS does their routing.

Real good first experience with Amazon Prime's free two day shipping lol

Probably was accidentally shipped.

I've had a package that was in a nearby city then got send down far south before getting sent back to nearby city and then to my city.

they're still using humans in the sorting facilities? I would've assumed they're mostly if not fully automated at this point

It's the holiday season... Time for the postal service to be extra shitty

Case in point, I had a package set to arrive yesterday. Tracking says "delivered", but wasn't here. Waited a day in case it ended up at a neighbors, but nothing.
Thankfully amazon is replacing the items

I'm not in that bad of a situation, but I'm currently waiting on a package that was supposed to be here Tuesday (I have Amazon Prime). Of course when I have a package I really want the mail guys wait til the very end of the day to deliver it when 99% of the time the mail comes around noon.

Depends on if it is actually late. Once it is at least a day late, contact them. Sometimes they will give you a courtesy credit for the inconvenience.

Was it Amazon that had that really misleading text about shipping times on their site? Like they say, "Order now and get it by x!" but x really is just the earliest possible time, not the average?

This is happening all the time with Amazon now. My last few shipments have been like this and I see people having the same complaint.

Contacted Amazon. They're going to refund me and said I could order the items again with the fastest shipping option, then contact them a second time and have the shipping refunded. Dunno why they couldn't have just placed the order themselves to automatically waive shipping, but oh well. Time to get 20 bucks or whatever one day will cost me tied up in some refund mess.

I live in alaska and I ordered something that started in Washington state, then went east....before coming up here. it would have been simpler to just go north from seattle
