Men: You don't want to be raising a other man's offspring.

Women: You don't want your man to leave you to fend for yourself (less important in the age of child support)

I'd say pretty close to tied.

I will say that people tend to be selfish, and usually hold others to a higher standard of loyalty than they themselves exhibit.

I think it depends on who has the power in society.

In today's modern feminized society, women have the power. They earn just as much as men, they get favorship in the court of law, and they have stronger family and social ties (more likely to have support if things go awry).

Men have more physical power.....that's it. Women have more power in almost every social institute.
