Im worried people would think IM the shooter if i tried to stop him. Or people would think theres more than one and tell emergency responders that the dude in the backwards cap and Emperor shirt is with him. Idk.

There are very few scenarios I can imagine in my head where a good guy with a handgun is going to be an effective force in fighting against the bad guy with the very big gun and body armour.

But if another wannabe hero comes around the corner when you shoot the bad guy, he will believe that you are the bad guy.
And when he shoots you, another wannabe sees him and believes that he is the bad guy...

Practically every bad guy with a gun is stopped by a good guy with a gun. A lot of the times those good guys are wearing badges.

A lot of people who are anti gun don't understand that you literally have to know what is and is not justifiable to even qualify for your ccw. Idiots that don't know that should never own a gun, and never speak on the topic of guns. Cus they have no idea what they're talking about.

An instructor will tell you all the things you need to know, and if you ever absolutely positively HAD to use it, you will also know what courses of action you need to/should take.

In a lot of situations though, unless you can absolutely end a threat quickly, it is best to wait for law enforcement agencies to arrive.

when it comes to a mass shooter incident almost every time they are met with force they tend to stop what theyre doing and run or kill themselves. unless the shooter is there specifically to go after those with firearms (like police) they tend to be massive pussies.

thats a factor in why so many of these incidents are in no gun zones so they can rack up the highest body count with the littlest chance of resistance.
