You like him because he's always right in theory. He does undergo development over the course of the show. All pickle rick and rick and morty fandom aside, I think it's a pretty good show, esspecially the first 2 seasons. A lot of funny jokes both science and non-science related, unique/interesting world plots, and surprisingly deep stuff. It's funny and there are a lot of interesting character dynamics going on. I wouldn't say it's the same kind of humor as South Park. SP is more absurd, contemporary satire.
