Yo

I got warned for a joke in bad taste but I'm back!

Last thing I did in other topic was beat the tree boss so we'll go from there.

I cleared out the Farron Swamp place, which I hated so much. That swamp can lick my hollow ass. Constant poison and areas that make you slow and giant fuck-crabs goddamn. I think I got all the items, though and lit all the fires and moved on. There was a Witch boss somewhere in that mix I think, or maybe that was another area...

I killed the Witch in one go. She was pretty easy. Then I went through a woodsy area, part of which had seven crossbow bitches and a half-dozen dogs that part was annoying. I'm currently at the Abyss Watcher boss which is giving me some trouble.

I ground souls a bit and got access to the Tower behind the Firelink Shrine. There a lot of cool stuff in there. Is there something with the bird's nests? I got as neat ring that boosts Estus Flask power, so yay that too.

I've been experimenting with a thorn whip I found. I enjoy using it but it's just not as practical as either the spear or axe I've been using. How does bleed work against enemies? I currently have a sword and whip that have bleed on them but haven't noticed any bleeding...

Finally--that Winged Knight in the early cathedral area DOES drop his Halberd, right? I've killed him so many times now...I just want that weapon, regardless if I'm gonna use it or not.

all enemies have a chance of dropping their gear (weapons, armor), iirc.

and the area after that "witch" boss you mentioned kinda annoys me, even though it can be pretty cool.

it leads to one of the best boss fights in the series, though, IMO, and I prefer it to Blight Town and the Valley Of Defilement

Blight is easy to run through though

that's true, but when you're first playing, it can be a pain because one bonfire takes a while to get to and the other can easily be missed

So I ignored the Abyss Watchers for now and went on through the Cathedral of the Deep. That giant scared the shit out of me and I was killed by a jumpy mother fuck that cursed me.

So...is curse just instant death? I mean when the bar fills up. That's nonsense.

Oooh okay thanks

So I got through the Cathedral and to the priest mob boss. I got it about 3/4ths down and then my phone rang. You can't Dark Souls and gave a phone conversation at the same time.

The priest mob boss was a piece o' cake, especially with that Saint's gear you get and it's crazy curse resistance. Also the whip was fucking awesome with clean-up AOE. I got a small doll and ran out of places to go so I guess I have to bite the bullet and get those Abyss Watcher's done.

I found a cool spear I juiced up. It's white and has a name that starts with B? Saint Bident! I looked it up. Its reach is bananas! Me and spears in this game are lovers, I tell you what.

I also found another Undead Bone so my Flask is 8 uses and super-powerful.

Weight kinda annoys me, too. My limit is 54~ but if I go over 38 I start rolling around like I'm made of lead. I just feel like the weight limit should be the same as the movement limit.

It's still significantly more forgiving than it was in past games. The cutoff for fast rolling in DkS1 was 20%, I believe.

If you find that weight is an issue, though, go back to the Farron Keep Perimeter bonfire, head to the right, and climb the really long ladder with the slugs at the bottom. There's a demon at the top of the tower, and when you kill him, you get his soul that you can transpose into Havel's Ring to give you extra weight capacity.

Oh, do you mean that big grey dude (he's huge) walking around? He has a big mace. I saw him but just wanted to get the swamp done or something at the time so I walked on by. Thank you for the tip, though! This is real helpful.

I'm thinking that after I finish this I might go back and give Dark Souls 1 another shot. I'm just having so much fun with this and Bloodborne and I know that I have to apply the same patience to DS1 that I have here I dunno.

Maybe I'll go all the way back to Demon's Souls which I think is a...Playstation 2 game?

Demon's Souls is on the PS3.

and yea, Dark Souls is great, but the second half falls off in quality, IMO.

I went and got that weight ring and it helps a good amount. That demon was nuts after his legs blew off.

I also poked around some more and found the Sellsword Twinswords which seem pretty cool. And a Farron Coal for the smithy. I'm really just procrastinating fighting the Abyss Watchers. I'm really happy with this Baptine spear or whatever it's called. The reach is really helpful. Also my whip is aces, even though I'm not sure if there's a visual cue to when bleed (or poison for that matter) is afflicted on an enemy.

Well I beat the Abyss Watchers. Got the soul but holding onto it. Apparently this bro was a Lord of Cinder? I need to do some research into the lore, here. Maybe.

Onto the Catacombs! I'm getting real sick and tired of the camera boxing me out in narrow spaces. It's more frustrating than any enemy I've fought. Especially in narrow places like this when the camera refuses to go through a wall and I see absolutely nothing but flashing textures and blood.
