The Sonic cycle continues or something like that. Was hyped that we were going back to a hedgehog engine game after Lost World and Boom. Hopes were high that it would be another Generations but unfortunately it never reached those heights and a combination of wonky jumping physics and poor level design end up making it the worst of the Hedgehog Engine games. However I always found this style of Sonic extremely fun to play so even if the game isn't as tight as I would hoped it's still very fun to play. The thing I always liked about 3D Sonic was how to do a perfect run of each stage to try to get the fastest time possible. This game delivers in that regard as the Modern Sonic games are easily the best part. The Fursona stages are fun too provided you pick the right weapon (Wispon) so that you can get through the stages quickly. Where the game falls flat is Classic Sonic. His momentum and jumping physics are all wrong and coming off of Sonic Mania it's even more apparent how bad he controls. It's a shame really.

This Platinum is a 100% run with some grinding at the end to get a ton of rings (there's a stage you can easily beat in 90-100 seconds and get 999 rings every time). The main highlights are:

- Beating the game
- Customizing your Fursona
- Renting another player's Fursona
- Completing 10 Daily missions
- Completing all Challenge Missions
- Rank on the leaderboards
- Finding all red rings
- Finding all number rings
- Finding all moon rings
- Defeat 10,000 enemies
- Collect 100,000 rings
- Complete all Secret and EX stages

Completing all Challenge Missions really covers like 3/4 of the trophies as everything unlockable is tied to that. Weapons, Custom parts, etc

Better than I feel reviews have led you to believe, but not one of the best ones for sure.
