The only other game I've played like it is Dragon Age Origins. A few hours into Divinity, and I'm still being surprised by new mechanics I never discovered. I love how the game just hands you a ton of tools and build variety and lets you go wild. There's so much variation between different playthroughs it's crazy.

PS, the games gotta be on PS3 or PS4. >_>

Very few turn based tactical rpgs exist that stack up to Divinity Original Sin, unfortunately. Especially on consoles. It was a throwback to the old rpgs like Baldurs Gate 2 that largely died out a decade ago. While there has been a resurgence and as good as Pillars of Eternity is, it just doesn't compare to the tactical and design genius of Divinity Original Sin 2 Aipom.

I'm really hoping they port Original Sin 2 over to consoles. God damn does it look fun...

When I purchased Original Sin I was also looking at Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numeria. Know if those are any good in comparison as far as gameplay mechanics and world exploration?

SNES graphics style turn based RPG but alot more substance than your usual RPG. if you've played the divinity original sin games, the combat is like that. you can move along the grid of battlefield, and spells will affect terrain. if you use water spell, it will create puddle, if you use use electricity spell on the puddle, it will shock the puddle and damage everything on the puddle. use water to extinguish flames and other combos.

the spells and skills are useful to solve puzzles too. for example, there is this broken bridge, you can fix it by attaching wooden plank. you can find wooden plank in the world as loot on the ground, or simply attack trees with axe. now trees will be gone if you chop it into wood, but you have regeneration spell that have a healing over time effect. when you use it on a tree stump, the tree will regrow and you will have enough wood to fix the bridge and fight a secret boss.

they are 10-20 hours depending on how curious and perfectionist are you. the story is nothing special, but the settings are interesting. basically in the voidspire, you are kidnapped into a floating continent that fly around the world and take chunk of land and islands away like alien kidnapping a cow, but take the whole farm instead of just the cow.

the second one is you exploring the dying giant ass serpent called alvora. loosely like sin in FF X, alvora is a giant creature that roams the world causing damage to cities and towns eating chunk of landmass when it eat. one day, alvora ended up dead on a shore of a city and an expedition was started to solve why alvora suddenly drop dead and legends of treasures and valuables because alvora swallowed kingdoms and cities, that the treasury of these victims are still intact. inside, you will fight parasites, scavengers and fellow adventurer seeking treasures inside the giant serpent's gut.
