Is that the characters never seemed to be actual people.

Seriously try to describe Superman's personality without saying what his ideological beliefs are.

The DCEU characters seem to exist purely to serve as the physical embodiment of a generic philosophical argument.

Wonder Woman seems to have fixed this by having a protagonist with an actual personality for once and Justice League seems to be following suit as well (even though Barry Allen reminds me more of Wally West but that's okay).
