Spent yesterday evening/this morning transferring everything from the old case to the new case, with a shiny new fully modular power supply. I actually did some cable management this time, so it doesn't look like a fucking bomb went off.

Also dropping down from 2 monitors to one (slightly) larger one. I basically never use the second monitor and it was just taking up space doing nothing.

And I'm replacing this 10 year old 5.1 speaker system with a simple two speakers so that I no longer have to deal with all these god damn cables.

Next year I'll replace the Mobo and CPU and should be good. It's kinda sad right now, the case has a USB 3.0 input on the front that I can't use because my mobo doesn't support it <_<

Fun times. How is your day going?

Pretty good. Woke up, ate some frozen pizza with Toddy. Took a big shit afterwards and sat down on my computer to work.

Been working since 9 am and my back hurts, but all is well and swell.

I mostly came into this topic to say that I hope you started with your PSU, because that's the first thing to upgrade and will limit what else you can do. But you did do that, so I guess I'll just say, "good job."

No, I run Windows 10. But my motherboard literally doesn't have a spot to plug in the USB 3.0 port. I could get an adapter to make work... But meh. I have enough USB slots in the computer, I can be without 1 for now.

Got our first snowfall on Nov 1st... And it was like a foot of snow. Yesterday was a brisk -30 out, but it's significantly warmer today at about -15... Though it was blizzarding this morning. Lots and lots of snow.

Never even crossed my mind. The speakers were dirt cheap though, so down the road I wouldn't feel too bad chucking them and getting one of those if I so choose.

Limited desk space that I could put to better use. I'll still have a second monitor in storage, so if I miss it I'll just put it back.

I got my computer all at once and assembled it, but I could see myself doing the one-at-a-time thing from here on out. A year ago or so, the main drive failed (the boot/OS drive didn't, but is a 100 gig SSD). I replaced the failed HD with a SSD.

SSDs are getting to be very reliable.

What kind of monitor is it? all my monitors have built-in speakers (Samsung models).
