I like how being opposed to the usage of a racial slur has now become "code" for just wanting to be able to say it.

Just because you apparently talk out your ass on the reg don't mean everyone else does.

What do you say to black people who don't like any usage of the word? Does every white person with valid points about this shit have to go find a black person who agrees with him and drag them into this every time just so people can stop with the BS dismissal?

There's a shit load of racial slurs out there and people aren't aching to say them and there's less of a problem with them being used, and the reason for both of those differences is because the people they refer to didn't popularise their use as a trendy thing.

Black people who want to use it as the black equivalent to "smurf" but then get super offended if a white person says it are never not going to come across as foolish. It's not exactly synonymous with being particularly smart, there's black people who don't like the usage of the word period, there's even black people who both like the usage of it and are okay with white people saying it so long as it's clear they're not actually using it in a racist context.

Among these different views, the group who stands on "I wanna exclusively use a word used to demean people of my race and call everyone it and make it cool" just looks dumb, I'm sorry.

You're talking people who think society tells all white people that they own everything.

Nobody should use the "n" word, stop making it a race thing.

Well according to him:

He gave a potential answer: When youre white in this country, youre taught that everything belongs to you. You think you have a right to everything. Youre conditioned this way. Its not because your hair is a texture or your skin is light. Its the fact that the laws and the culture tell you this. You have a right to go where you want to go, do what you want to do, be however and people just got to accommodate themselves to you.

So here comes this word that you feel like you invented, Coates said. And now somebody will tell you how to use the word that you invented. Why cant I use it? Everyone else gets to use it. You know what? Thats racism that I dont get to use it. You know, thats racist against me. You know, I have to inconvenience myself and hear this song and I cant sing along. How come I cant sing along?

Lol what white person alive today feels like they invented the n word?

I like Coates occasionally, and he's a great writer but a lot of what he says is nonsense

How do you think he came to these conclusions?
