Let's say you're for example hanging out with people who are akin to friends, and they make fun of you over something you say and do. But then when you similarly return a joke in kind they get up in a huff and storm out or act insulted and become in a sullen mood the rest of the night.

Those are the worst type of people. I personally don't like making fun of people and definitely don't like being made fun of, but in a group setting I'll laugh good-humoredly and maintain amicable relationships with everyone.

But if you're going to make fun of someone and then get upset when they do the same, you're a pretty terrible person.

I've grown around people like that my entire life and while for the most part they don't happen to be in my life, on occasion when I do interact with them it just reminds me of how much I dislike those kinds of people.

Yeah I've seen that a lot. It confused the hell out of me until I was about 12.

Hasn't happened recently I don't think. I try to avoid those kinds of people and if a good natured barb does come my way, I now tend to play off it and make it a better joke.

Make sure you do it back to them but 50x worse

It sucks if they're like, in your workplace. You don't want to seem unfriendly in the office but you also don't want people to walk all over you
