That's like overly praising an RPG for being lengthy and story-driven. No shit, they all are. I think the super-retro-gamer Cuphead reviewers have actually never played a Megaman clone in their lives. The game is excellent, but it's gameplay of manufactured satisfaction isn't such a master piece. The main complaint against cuphead is it seems trial an error, a test of memory almost. People counter that by saying but every attack is telegraphed. Of course they are, and I've seen it, they are telegraphed extremely well. The detail is nothing short of perfect. If you die, it's 100% your fault, because the game is designed so well.
