Like...

Requiring a huge gazillion dollar company to have basic fire safety like emergency exits for the overworked machinists working 50 hours a day is considered dictatorship and communism

But poor people can be beaten to death then sent to prison for walking around with their hands in their pockets (which makes it look like they're hiding a weapon), and everything is A-OK

What gives?

Sound so like you're referring to a dictatorship country. Not sure which. Probably one that controls time increments to make at least 50 hrs in a day.
