Current Events > Any games feature a WWII Tail-gunner (Meeting a veteran IRL)

I've been invited to meet a veteran that was a tail-gunner in WWII and one thing I was hoping of doing was showing him how video games depict that he did IRL, and maybe ask how the real thing is different.

The only games I can think of is "COD: World at War", and a budget PC game called "WW2 Tail Gunner"

Does anyone else know of any other realistic ones?

Maybe one of the Medal of Honor games has some missions where you're in one of those things but I don't remember. I remember the WaW ones, those were pretty good.

Could you narrow it down? There are... more than a few MoH games :)

Like imagine meeting an American hero and being like "lol dude lemme trivialize what you did for human civilization by showing you some vidyas"

It's not trivializing. It's showing him how the current generation views what he did, and me learning more about what his real world experience was in the process.

And I'd say "the current generation"'s view comes more from movies and general pop culture zeitgeist than games. Games are niche among the general public still.

That's exactly what I'm doing. We're going to go through his logbook and he's going to tell me about the individual sorties he flew. I would show him clips of movies but a) there aren't that many that feature a tailgunning segment and b) the ones I did find involved the tailgunner getting shot & killed. That's a line I'm not going to cross.

I'd also disagree that games are "niche" among the current generation, esp when it comes to exposure on WWII.

We've been friends for years. He just recently found the logbook, hence the invitation.

That plane isn't in the game natively but there's a mod to put it in.

Thanks for looking into it. From what I'm seeing it looks like russian tailgunners had open air turrets which is probably quite different.
