Its not that it wasnt successful, its just been over a year since it started and theyre phasing out the old marketing.
Also, series die out all the time. A few series coming to an end isnt indicative of the health of the entire line. Yeah that's not remotely the same. It's not like that time when "batman" became half wolverine with all the spikes and culmination of 90s edge in comics because we knew that wasn't the status quo, just a temporary story arc.
But now with superman, the costume just does not work without the red to break up the blue. He looks more like blue superman than real superman. The trick with Marvel events is to not read Marvel events. In fact, your best bet is to just stop buying Marvel comics while their event is going on and wiki the summary when it's over. >_>
Anyways, most character-based series are in one trade paperback. Ms. Marvel, for instance. You only need to buy Ms. Marvel trades to understand that story. There will be some weird shit like "why is Loki a teenager now and a good guy. Why is he even here?" but after a while you learn to just accept it. <_< The exception (besides events) is sometimes when the same hero will have multiple titles. Superman has both Superman and Action Comics. But in that case you would just follow the title you like. >_> --- Currently Binging: Ghost in the Shell - Stand Alone Complex http://i.imgtc.com/YQId2Bz.png ... Copied to Clipboard!
