...eradicate the White Walkers. Yeah, they killed one dragon with one javelin, but Jon now knows that the wights are destroyed when the White Walker that raised them is killed. He can also probably guess that the dude who raised a thousand corpses at once is probably the leader. So he really just has to wait until that guy is spotted, tell Dany, and then have her focus that guy with her dragons.

The Night King has walked straight through fire twice: first, the fire magic used by the Children of the Forest outside the cave of the 3ER, and second, dragon fire during Daenerys' rescue mission. Both times the fire was extinguished as he passed through it, taking no damage.

Also, he's now extremely mobile on the back of the dragon he stole. Plus he may or may not have some degree of precognition. And we know that he's the single most lethal long-range fighter on the playing field.

There's no guarantee that Dany can get close enough for her dragon to use its teeth. Based on what we've seen, that plan is far more likely to result in giving away another dragon to the Night King.

Is there a difference, when we're dealing with magic? It doesn't seem to matter how hard people swing their standard steel swords at the White Walkers-- the steel shatters on contact, all the same. The only evidence we have to go on suggests that the Night King can hard-counter dragon fire. They'd best fly those dragons straight back to Dragonstone and start producing more Valyrian steel.

Yes, there's a difference. He also doesn't walk through the fire, it goes out before it touches him.

From a meta standpoint, it's just going to be dumb as hell if the Night King can't be killed by dragons.

Can't be killed directly, anyway, if I'm right. The dragons are still the key (probably) to forging the weapons that will kill the Night King and his generals. But I'd wager there's no way that the NK will literally go down in flames unless it's due to Lightbringer.

seems to me only two things clearly destroy the walkers: valyrian steel and dragonglass

night king can only be slain in a duel with someone using valyrian steel or dragonglass

which realistically means jon, jaime, brienne, sam (snort), or arya.

with the return of everyone's favorite blacksmith i think it seems probable that we're going to discover valyrian steel can be remade in the modern era or some nonsense
