The oldest Whooping Crane was 40 years old!

There's a species of shark ( I want to say the Greenland shark) that ON AVERAGE lives to like 400 years. Its reproductive maturity age is ridiculously old too, like 70-100 years.

If you notice, animals with short lifespans (like dogs) mature much more quickly than we do. Puppies become adults at like 1-2 years but live only 7-14 years on average. Elephants on the other hand become adults slowly (I don't know the exact numbers probably 8-12 years or something) and live into their 50s. Humans have long lifespans but obviously not anything extreme like a giant tortoise. Our children reach full physical maturity around 16-18 and full mental maturity around 25.
