My parents met on a telephone hotline. There's no real reason to be ashamed.

It would probably be more weird if they didn't meet online. Seems like the norm these days.

Well I met my wife on Craigslist which could possibly be worse. The first few years it was awkward telling anyone how we met. Now we just make a joke of it like "yeah we went the classy route and met on Craigslist". It's been 8.5 years so people can't really judge too much. I'm sure I'll throw humor in when telling my kids.
