The AR-556 was the Gun that was used in the Texas Church Massacre that killed 26 people carried out by 26 y/o whacko, Devin Patrick Kelley!!

This semi-automatic firearm is frequently "heralded" in reviews because it's easy to modify and highly customizable while costing less than $800, HALF of most priced AR-15's and other military style rifiles.

This gun is just as deadly because a video shows a young man shooting off 30 rounds in 5 SECONDS without the aid of a bump stock!!

It wasn't until 2004 when AR-15 style firearms were available nationwide due to the restrictions created by assault weapons ban, which when lifted in 2004 reintroduced the AR-15 and it's variants.

Back then maximum magazine capacity was 10 rounds whereas now through customization it holds as many as FIFTY rounds depending on state law

A decade after that ban was lifted, the Ruger AR-556 hit the market and it could be outfitted with bump stocks.

He purchased this gun at the San Antonio sporting good store, passing background checks after falsely stating he had no criminal history despite an arrest for domestic abuse.

He did not have a license to carry in the state of Texas, a hurdle he managed to overcome with ease

The maximum rate of fire is 90 rounds per minute and after a few minutes at that rate the gun starts to overheat.

These weapons became popular last year after Hillary Clinton entered the race as gun buyers started STOCK PILING them ahead of the election as her husband, Bill introduced the assault ban and restricted the purchase of AR-15s and Hillary Clinton was to enact a similar measure..

Stores and retailers started purchasing these guns in the THOUSANDS as many gun nuts started buying them in droves..

The popularity of these guns lie in how easy it is to use and the cost since it's cheaper than AR-15's. Ruger is a company was founded for providing for the "average joe" who couldn't afford fancier guns.

When I say I want more gun control... I don't actually care about types of guns. Let people own miniguns and bazookas! ... as long as they make it passed control.

Gun control already exists and it works pretty well. We can't minority report what people without a criminal history are going to do.

Self-defense, for starters. During large-scale riots, emergency services are basically shut down and you're at the mercy of looters, murders, etc.

Otherwise, they're recreational. If you banned all "no practical reason" recreational things, you wouldn't have much of anything available. And, if you really cared about banning stuff that kills people, you'd be going after alcohol not semi-auto weapons.

That's all semi autos with a clip/magazine that can hold 30 rounds. They will fire as fast as you can pull the trigger. This includes handguns.
