There's only two reasons for someone to do that. A) They're going through a rough time, are feeling down on themselves, have some kind of mood disorder, etc. B) It's someone being tasteless with a shitty attention seeking gimmick. If you think it's the latter then you just ignore it and move on because otherwise you risk being that asshole that tells someone actually going through a hard time that they're just attention seeking.
