Apparently the 2012 CGI series is airing its final 3 episodes on November 12th, and then sometime next year an all-new 2D animated (god I hope it's not Flash animated but it probably will be) series will debut sometime next year. It just seems a little weird is all. I mean a big part of the appeal of the current series was seeing their new and creative takes on classic characters, and now that they've basically introduced every character who was ever in any TMNT property they're just... scrapping it and doing it all again? Uhh... I mean I guess I understand the thinking but it just seems so cynical and creatively bankrupt.

We've gone through plenty of iterations of the Turtles on TV but it's always been left alone for at least a few years between series. On the one hand I can understand not wanting to drag the series out until it starts failing, but seeing a reboot being cooked up before the current iteration even concludes is just weird. I wonder if this ends up being more successful than the last two times they tried to "soft-reboot" an existing series (the "red sky" seasons of the 1987 series and TMNT Fast Forward). I guess if it does better than those, which is not exactly a high bar to reach, this move will be seen as a success.

If the shows can make enough money to subsidize the comic book I dont care too much what they do. I did like the first season of the show and just fell off for whatever reason.
