I still can't believe people are defending this.

This is literally an attack on democracy.

right? the russians might have fucked with our election. Hillary literally did fuck with it.

Yup. Even IF we look at it as her "saving" the DNC, there is still a process for electing a Democratic nominee and this was a complete disregard of it.

And it's perfectly legal as it turns out. So yeah, our electoral process? A total sham. We live in a monarchical republic.

Ironically this also probably means whatever Trump's interference was with the election wasn't illegal, even if it was tantamount to treason.

Also Bernie sold out I guess.

I wouldn't know.

Oh yeah? So how much did Trump pay to Russia to win the election? Hillary and the DNC paid at least $8.2 million for the dossier which was made with Russian help, according to WaPo. Or is the Washington Post fake news too?

The Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped fund research that resulted in a now-famous dossier containing allegations about President Trumps connections to Russia and possible coordination between his campaign and the Kremlin, people familiar with the matter said.

Marc E. Elias, a lawyer representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC, retained Fusion GPS, a Washington firm, to conduct the research.

After that, Fusion GPS hired dossier author Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer with ties to the FBI and the U.S. intelligence community, according to those people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

At least, no liberal would.

The amount of liberal cognitive dissonance since this broke is mind-numbing, tbh.

Although, I get it - the DNC can't hide their shit anymore after Fusion GPS threw them under the bus. They have no choice but to do damage control, and so they're distancing themselves from the Clintons as best they can.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/27/us/politics/trump-dossier-paul-singer.html

The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative website funded by a major Republican donor, first hired the research firm that months later produced for Democrats the salacious dossier describing ties between Donald J. Trump and the Russian government, the website said on Friday.

The Free Beacon, funded in large part by the New York hedge fund billionaire Paul Singer, hired the firm, Fusion GPS, in 2015 to unearth damaging information about several Republican presidential candidates, including Mr. Trump. But The Free Beacon told the firm to stop doing research on Mr. Trump in May 2016, as Mr. Trump was clinching the Republican nomination.

Actually it's rather obvious that the DNC is worse (and worse off) than the GOP.

Not only has the DNC been proven to collude with Russia to win the election while the FBI investigation still hasn't proved the same of Trump, but the DNC is also broke thanks entirely to the Clinton Foundation, which had been in control of the DNC since Wasserman-Schulz was ousted.

Not quite

http://thefederalist.com/2017/10/25/top-10-things-to-know-about-dossier/

When the news broke that the Clinton campaign and the DNC were admitting partial responsibility for the Russia dossier, journalists acted like theyd presented it as a Clinton campaign operation all along. They also claimed it was initially funded by a Republican.

Incorrect. And Tapper took the tweet down when the error was pointed out. There is no evidence that a Republican donor or Republican campaign was ever involved with the Russian dossier. Fusion GPS claimed to reporters (though they did not provide evidence) that a Republican funded separate opposition research on Trump, dealing with his business interests. But as the Washington Post itself reports, the dossier did not exist until after the Democrats hired Fusion GPS:

@Sephiroth1288

You literally posted that he backed out before they got the dossier....

Add in that Fusion GPS already testified that the DNC financed the dossier, which they outright purchased from the Russian government, and I really don't see your point here.

The Washington Free Beacon disclosed in congressional testimony on Friday that it is the mysterious client that initially paid for opposition research on Donald Trump performed by Fusion GPS, the firm that later worked with a former British spy to produce a dossier of claims about ties between Trump and Russia.

Just three days earlier, the Free Beacon, a conservative news site founded in 2012, told its readers that before Democrats hired Fusion GPS in April 2016, the firm's work was funded by an unknown GOP client while the primary was still going on."

They call themselves a GOP client.

So yes, the GOP is responsible.

They backed out before a dossier existed, or even any information gotten

And then the DNC actually paid for the dossier that was put together with Russian help

Are you saying there is no difference in culpability here? Seems rather obvious that the DNC is the primary mover there.

Considering they called them an "unknown" GOP client, no. However, it later came out that the person who funded it has no direct connection to the GOP in any way, so you're just plain wrong.
