When I googled hot dogs Obama Chicago this story came up

That article was published a year later.

The point is, do you have any experience with catering, or event management?

Because $65k - although excessive - is not an unimaginable amount of money for an event like this. Work off the basis of say, $250 per head for 250 people and there goes your 65k. We're talking about a private party at the white house. Could have been $500 for a head for 150 people. Or $1000 a head for 65 people. You get the idea. Shit is expensive when you add in all the overheads. It's not just a $3 hotdog.

I've actually worked in catering for a bit. One of my events, we charged $800 in total to feed a good 50 people, giving a fruit platter, cheese platter, some local hot food, and drinks.

$250 per head IS OUTRAGEOUS. We're cooking in bulk, there's no way they're going to charge that much FOR HOTDOGS AND PIZZA. What hell is that hotdog made out of? Grade A5 Kobe beef? What fraught.

Anyhow, you're missing my point. There are a billion and 2 inconsistencies to make it clear as mud that the article Darmik linked has nothing to do with the "private pizza/hotdog" party.

Damn, you catered for the White House?

$250 is absolutely not out of the question. I've been to a wedding at $250 a head for food. I've been to corporate events at $350 a head. My chef housemate has done events that cost over $100k in food and alcohol. And I'm a very far cry from the upper elite of society all gathering together for lunch. Putting together a complete food service is very different from shoving a bunch of hot dogs in a crate and warming them up. And this being the white house, I very much doubt it was paper plates and napkins. Can you imagine the costs involved in catering for the white house? Fuck 'em, if I got that gig I'd invoice for $1k a head.

I'm not actually defending this level of expenditure, by the way. I do think it's outrageous that taxpayer money could be blown on hot dogs. But I also think it's a much more likely story that Obama got frivolous with tax dollars for a luncheon than obama flew in underage child slaves for a sex orgy.

But the price tag is specifically for hotdogs and Pizza, nothing else. They even put waitresses in quotations.

Can we can at least agree that the email is in doublespeak?

It's the white house dinner. Do you really think it's the same exact thing? They freaking flew in a guy interstate to cook hot dogs. Does your company do that?

Do you have any information about this party outside of a casual email?

Vertania posted...
This is where the e-mail links to the map (note the line that says "claimed by Mexico and the Texas"):

It was a casual email between two people who both know each other and went to a party last year dude. Not a budget breakdown. I think they're even mocking the cost of the party.

They probably think the party is expensive and the waitresses are hot.

We don't actually know what the pricetag was for, since the comment seemed to be fairly offhand and didn't give an itemized bill. When I say my visa "cost around $10k", that presumes all the visa related costs that weren't directly for the visa lodgment itself.

I agree that the email sounds coded but who knows what for.

Just so I understand you correctly.

You're claiming that a link on the Smithsonian education website that is showing a map of the United States in 1840 is secretly pointing to the Ranch using the "Claimed by Mexico and the Texas" arrow and this was used by a man in an email to point to an assassination position? A man who also linked to his personal Facebook in the same email?

Linking to his Facebook (in a confidential e-mail) is the one thing you have a problem with in the whole thing? Not that he's sending a script to two politicians (Podesta and George Pataki) with no movie making experience or connections, or that the supposed script is filled with nonsensical dialogue referencing filling government vacancies, halted bank transfers, Russia/Ukraine, etc.?

What, exactly, would you expect a hit solicitation to look like? "Hi, my name is Joe and I'd like to have [person] murdered at [location] on [date] with a [weapon]. K thnx bye"

Lmao. The hot dog email is random people making a joke about Obama spending a lot of taxpayer money to get Chicago food to the White House.

The movie email is some random crackpot lol. I don't even understand what you're trying to suggest with the locations being similar. So?

Do you think email addresses screen your movie qualifications before receiving them or something?

So you are saying that a movie maker on Facebook (or someone pretending to be a movie maker on Facebook) ordered a hit by using a map of the US in 1840 and the 'Claimed by Mexico and the Texas' line hosted on the Smithsonian?

I'm saying that's what this e-mail looks like.

I'm not saying they conspired with the Smithsonian to have that image uploaded, if that's what you're trying to imply. They would have just found a map that already exists.

Oh you didn't explain how the info in the email combined with the 1840 map if the US give the details (target, time, method etc.) for an assassination. Go ahead. I was under the assumption you jumped to this conclusion because of the map and pretty much nothing else. Even then I'm not sure how you're supposed to figure out the exact position of the ranch using this map considering how zoomed out it is.

This topic is the perfect showcase of how PG-related discussion has gone over the last year and just backs up my and daftpunk's points.

Nobody has a problem jumping in to mock the "Hillary banging kids in a pizza place's basement" idea (which like 90% of the PG community doesn't even believe), but everything else that's brought up is just laughed off or ignored outright.

Here's the Scalia-related e-mail I mentioned earlier in case anyone eventually feels like addressing it ...they won't:
