It's simple economics. Up until very recently, tolerating such abuse could at best be a way to get ahead or at worst be a way to keep from being shut out.

Now, the floodgates are open. The fear of being shut out is gone, and coming foward also can give you more exposure.

I anticipate that things will continue to accelerate.

I find it sad that everytime some moron grabs a girls ass, we have to hear bullshit about how her life is ruined.

But people believe them right now. They would have been believed last year and the year before. The only times it's unbelievable is when it's just a single case without any proof

Here in America we have a court system that you have to have proof of something happening, it sucks, but it protects the innocent people from going to jail.

Why didn't they come forward? Well looking at the responses a good number of them just didn't want to lose out on work, and that makes me upset. I don't have much of an issue blasting a mother/wife with hostility if she stands by and let's her husband beat the shit out of his kids, and in that situation she could literately get killed if she were to do that, depending on the husband, and I would still hold her partly responsible for letting it continue. These women, as they have said, a good number on them used the excuse that they didn't want to lose their job or did it to get a job. And that, IMO, is bull shit

But yes, people would and are calling them liars, but the more women that come out, the more of that prove we need to judge someone we get. More women need to come out, but those women also need to understand what sexually assault is before they comment about how a guy asked her to suck his dick. Asking someone to do something ins't a crime unless that person is a minor, which as everyone knows how, seems to be the case in a lot of these as well.

Schwarzenegger has had several sexual assault claims years ago. He even admitted it. Nothing happened and everybody loves him. Stuff about Bill Cosby was also known for years. You can still see people in absolute denial about the Trump allegations.

It's easy to believe that this is the case. But it usually isn't. And these are situations where peoplee told their stories. For the ones that don't there's no way for these people to know if they're the only victim. Or if they misunderstood the situation. Or if they feel like it was their fault. Or if they're being dramatic etc.

People are easily scared and intimidated. The system is rigged against them. If it wasn't for social media putting a spotlight on it after NY Times took down Weinstein (which wasn't exactly easy) these guys would get away.

On top of this people are automatically biased towards people they know and like. If you're some nobody who is sexually harassed by a popular celebrity what are you supposed to do? Nobody will believe you without proof.

^ I'm not saying it's fair, I'm saying that with all of these women coming out, it's easier to believe. I'm sorry, but the public wasn't aware of it like the people in Hollywood did. That's the point, they all knew and did nothing. And in those case, like I said, it was against one person

Spacey is a piece of shit and that should have been stooped years ago with all the info was out about him. I know these rich and powerful people are power

Again, my complaint is that many women used the excuse of being blackballed from Hollywood, and that rubs me the wrong way. I'm sorry, you're not going to change my mind here. Women that don't speak up, people that do not listen, wives that stand by and let their husbands beat and molest their children, all should be held accountable.

I don't get it. Everyone is happy and supportive of #MeToo, but get upset with me when I want more women to speak up? That's all I want, I want then to let people know. Speaking about it right way carries more weight (and proof, sadly) then it dose 6 years down the road when you're not famous anymore and all of the sudden you have this story to tell. Not calling you a liar, but it's easy to see why others would.

But like everyone here knows, even speaking up about it gets you nowhere. But you still have to do it, it's the right thing to do, no matter if it makes you lose a job. You might prevent the next rape

Weinstein I think was by in large women sleeping with him in hopes of landing big film roles, but doesn't really change the fact Hollywood is a cesspit.

Most of them are overblown and not real issues. the rest are a long time ago and it's like...bring this up back then. Not after 10 years. Or in some cases, after you've gotten whatever role or success was promised with your 'assault'.
