I can really only think of ONE reason hitting people is dumb (putting someone on base) as long as the bench's haven't previously been warned. So I don't know what your multiple reasons are. As there is only one.

And this guy attacked his entire race.

Darvish has openly been the bigger man and forgiven him, so he'd be crushed for hypocrisy if he hits him.

Throwing something at somebody at 100 mph is always stupid and should never be done.

Usually when you purposely bean a batter you throw it about 84 or so.... (much less control at 100, you aren't trying to kill him)

until you accidentally break somebody's face

85 mph is still going to break bones if you miss

If he doesn't go for his head there is no way they'll toss him unless they warn the benches beforehand.

And Yu isn't the type of guy who would go head hunting in any situation, let alone this one.

They already did the right thing by stepping off the mound and just letting the crowd boo the crap out of him last night.

Don't need to do anything more than that, especially something that is actively detrimental to your team.

You know what the best way to get back at him would be?

Winning Game 7.

Not really. Dodgers can do that and he still hit him for racism.

There's no reason to put a free runner on base and risk possible ejection. It's game seven. Just win the game and let his performance speak for itself

Hitting him, at best, gives an amazing offensive team a free base runner.

At WORST, it gets your starting pitcher ejected and potentially more in any ensuing shenanigans. The best thing Yu can do is come out and strike Gurriel out a couple times en route to a dominant Game 7 performance and victory.

Dunno how else to convey that to you, man.

I just feel you are all new gen fans...

20 years ago this wouldn't have even been a question...

There is no way if Jones would have made fun of Andy Pettitte's mom in the 1996 WS that even if it would have went 7 instead of 6 he doesn't hit him with a fastball in game 7 when he comes up.

This is one of the most basic unwritten rules of baseball.

Not worth the risk. Syndergaard got tossed in a game in 2016 for throwing behind Utley in retaliation for his takeout slide on Tejada in the 2015 NLDS. There were no warnings, and he didn't even come close to hitting him anywhere, let alone his head. Of course they could be more lenient in a World Series game than a regular season game, but still, if the umpire feels he's intentionally throwing at a batter, he can get tossed. Not worth it. And especially when Yu has already come out and very publicly forgiven Yuli and moved on.

Let's just focus on Game 7 of an incredible World Series, not some beef and a beanball war.

That's fair enough. You make a legit point on that.

Still. This is sad
