Wish I had more money to invest.

I put $50 in a couple weeks ago. But even if it hits 10k, I'll barely make any profit. Gotta have money to make money unfortunately.

You realize you don't need to buy a full Bitcoin, right? You could buy 1 dollars worth if you really wanted to.

I actually just transferred some ETH from coinbase to Poloniex and diversified my ETH into about 10 other coin types. Maybe one day one of them will take off this is pretty much going to be my strategy.

I might be throwing money into a bottomless pit but who know I might get luck o one of these guys in a few years.

So serious question from someone who knows nothing about this:

Why do you assume it's going to keep rising in value? Do you think it's going to overcome traditional currency and be worth $100k one day?

100K is an easy target

Exactly what happened after Bitcoin Cash. FUD money turned into FOMO money and BTC saw a big rally.

SW2X is different but I expect a similar outcome.

I bought about $200 worth when it dropped down to 5800 or so, I'd have like $30 profit if I cashed out. I also have 3 litecoins, but that seems to be holding fairly steady and not really going up. I will probably put more into bitcoin over time, my girlfriend owes me about 1k and I might just dump all of it into bitcoin when she pays me back.

I think it will continue to rise because it really is backed purely by the faith people have for it which has been going up. It's not regulated or controlled by a central authority.

However, I do think that as more people adopt it, there will be a lot more vocal people who lose their private keys and thus forever lose their bitcoins. That is the main weakness to most ordinary people. If you lose your private key then your bitcoins are gone forever, but this also central to how bitcoin works in the first place.

tbh this might not be a bubble

that is until government tries to regulate it

because think about why people buy bitcoins

for one, if you try to gift or will your children a huge fortune, the government takes a giant chunk out of that

now consider this rich man buys tons of bitcoins and gives his children the wallet or puts the coins in their wallet

how does the government find out he did that hmm?

Always a safe bet.

Investing is just legalized gambling. If done responsibly it's good for enjoyment and in some cases lucrative and some not.

Whenever you transfer bitcoin, there is a small fee that goes to the miners who verify the transaction. It has to be this way in order to give people an incentive to mine which is what keeps the bitcoin network secure. It also keeps people from flooding the network with useless transactions.
