I finally watched it since it's on Netflix. I had put it off for so long because you all said it was terrible.

I thought it was pretty good. Before I just thought "Oh ok, so the rebels got a plan of the Death Star. Cool." Now I have an emotional connection with the people that stole the plans and it's a memorable event for me. It actually got me back into Star Wars again. I'm about to fire up ANH after my 11-year Star Wars hiatus. (I've watched TFA but I was drunk and don't remember much).

Never trust the edgelord CE folks about movies. Rogue One was pretty great.

I'm as big a SW freak as anyone, it's a solid entry, not the best, but still good. Easily the best battle in the series tho

It's my favorite Star Wars movie next to A New Hope.

Would have loved it even more if they didn't shoehorn in all the cameos.

I didn't care about any of the characters except the robot and maybe the pilot, the plot was disjointed, and the movie layered on fanservice like a novice baker layers fondant on a cake. The action at the end is good, but the movie before that point is really nothing special.

Maybe I'm just a movie pleb, but what are some of the fanservices aside from Tarkin, Vader & Leia?

The 2nd and 3rd prequel movies are looking better than the Disney Star Wars movies so far.

Rogue one tbh had a lot of the same cringe side character antics that the phantom menace had.

I do think Disney can make a classic movie here sooner or later though.

Unlike some franchises, Star Wars isnt really hindered by being owned by them.

I don't really care about Star Wars or any of the characters in this movie, but I thought it was alright.

Even as a non-fan, I liked the touch they added with the Death Star's weapon using the same crystals that light sabers use.

It wasn't a bad movie, I just didn't find any of the characters interesting. The constant nostalgia pandering was annoying too, but expected in a movie like that.

CGI Tarkin was a little too far the uncanny valley too. The friends I saw it with had no idea Peter Cushing is dead and probably forgot about him from the original movie. They thought he was a real person. Maybe I'm just a nerd.
