They have their flaws sure but it's easy to look past them.

Too bad a proper KOTOR 3 would be hampered with Frostbite, multiplayer, weak ass writing and more loot boxes than you could shake a stick at

I actually like the combat system. It blends turn based with semi-real time nearly flawlessly <_<
But yeah for the most part enemies are p easy, even on Hard. Except when you get those specific groups of enemies that decide that it's time for you to get your shit rocked

KOTOR 1 was a decent game, nothing amazing, but I had a lot of fun with the dialog. It was a time before Mass Effect, so without that to compare it to, it was really something special.

KOTOR 2 I couldn't finish. I didn't like the characters and it seemed like I was halfway through the dang game and didn't have a lightsaber yet, despite everyone telling me it's like the first thing you do.

KOTOR 1 and 2 were both considered top tier games and many people still say they are the best Star Wars games ever made.

KOTOR 2 has probably the best story in Star Wars, its a shame so much of the game was left unfinished.

Also shame on SWTOR for shitting all over the canon of both games, especially 2 though.

The base game was still pretty fantastic, story wise. For some of the classes anyway. Being a space james bond was awesome for example.

But yeah, the Revan expansion was just.... best not spoken of.

I think KOTOR 2 is the better game, even without the Restoration Mod. It's a vastly better written game, and I really enjoyed crafting my lightsaber. It was the closest I've ever gotten in a Star Wars game where the title of 'Jedi' legitimately felt like it had weight and having to work for that almighty laser sword was pretty cathartic.

Story was far better in one but the combat side was better in two. The combat kept getting better in Mass Effect (IMO the game engines sequel )

2'sganeplay is a bit more refined but KOTOR is more immersive imo

I care more about my party and the world in 1 than 2

Both are top notch tho

2 got fucking boring at a lot of parts. I remember it taking me close to a week just to slog through Nar Shadaa.

I thought the same for the longest time, until I played both again recently and realized it's not the story I liked more about KOTOR 1, it's the pacing. Once you leave Taris, the game picks up real fast and before you know it you're doing all sorts of space adventure stuff like becoming a Jedi, boarding the big bad's vessel, saving your lover from the Dark Side, and finding an ancient alien species.

The game has more set pieces and highlights going for it, unlike KOTOR 2 where the entire plot revolves around finding some Jedi in hiding. There's plenty of moments you can point back to, and go "Oh, man, remember that?" There isn't really anything like that in KOTOR 2, save for maybe the bombardment of Telos, or meeting Atris.

I agree the pacing in KOTOR lends itself to more memorable moments.

KOTOR 2 has a lot of little smaller moments that get forgotten a little easily.

Also doesn't help that pretty much all the planets are limited to one main objective and a bunch of smaller objectives. Even then the main objectives don't always feel epic or memorable.

KOTOR 2 has a better overall quality story going for it but KOTOR 1 also has the twist <_<

my main gripe with both games is that all the planets typically have, at most, 5 areas to explore. >_> makes the planets feel small and short, even though you typically spend a solid 3 or 4 hours on them.

Gotta agree. The first time I played those games I remember my only complaint was how short they were. I was craving more by the time I was done.
