I'm a religious person, and went to a Christian High School, and tbh I would have preferred a more honest, comprehensive education on evolution at the time. It's an observable, natural process that's pretty important. As an alternative answer to how different species came about? While I am religious, science has a pretty strict methodology that religion doesn't necessarily mesh with. It would be jarring to be learning about the passing on of genetic information and then have "alternatively, the book of Genesis poses this idea...". And in any event, I feel the Bible has far more important messages to be focused on than "what about dinosaurs?" Messages that don't really fall under the "science" label. Tl;dr: The theory of evolution, regardless of one's opinion of it, is a vital piece of modern education.
