I don't see Rey ~~ever turning to the Dark Side.~~ I just don't see anything that would prompt that sort of thing. I don't know about that. Rey is struggling with a lot of inner demons and is still trying to find her place in the world. The mentor she was beginning to trust (Han Solo) died a horrible death in front of her and her new mentor (Luke) doesn't want anything to do with the Force or the new war. Any writer, worth their pay, could easily put Rey on a path to be whatever they want her to be. No, the main reason why the studio won't do anything risky is because of all the backlash they'd get and how that might affect ticket sales and such. Rey is Disney's new princess in space. I think they will commit to delivering on that power fantasy for their young fans. Rey is fan favorite for a lot of girls/women, they're not going to throw her in the mud to get dirty That's what I'm saying.
