All you really need to do is keep proper spacing. If someone has trouble merging into safely spaced traffic it is their fault. Merging is a matter of fact situation. It's shifting lanes when traffic is really congested yet still moving pretty fast that is a little more heart stopping. If we're side by side, I'll sometimes get into the left lane to open up a spot for them. When ever i see cars on the slip roads coming onto the motorway, i will move to middle lane if possible. Loads of people do that for me too. Maybe i live in the rural area of britain and most people are nicer drivers than the city. And you never know some blind bastard or old fella who cant see u in the mirror and crashes into you. There are blind spots you cant see in the mirror and them old people might be not have the spacial awareness or just dont look over their shoulder. So I always make sure there is a space for them.
