You had to have actually beaten the game. I rented Superman 64 when I was a baby, but gave up after half an hour.

The worst game I ever played and beat is probably Silent Hill 4: The Room.

I've played and beaten Origins, Homecoming and Downpour and while the setting and story may redeem 4 a little more than some of those (really only Homecoming), the atrocious gameplay decisions made such as the ghosts, the idiotic inventory space and having to replay every single level in an escort mission...it is the WORST. I hate it so much.

Honorable mentions:

Deadly Premonition has so many problems, but I can't help but love it. I'm trying to remember if I ever finished Sonic 3D Blast. I'm sure there's some pretty horrible NES games I rented and beat as a kid.

That was what taught me the meaning of the word disappointment as a child. IDK how the Saturn version was, but the Genesis one is a disaster.

Because it does a great job with the weird writing and excellent story. From what I read in an article the only reason the game even had combat was because the studio said it wouldn't sell without it. Amusing because every other part of the game that wasn't combat was better done, yes even the running out of gas extremely fast.

When I rented the Genesis game I would get a huge headache after playing for a while. Something about the graphics really messed with my eyes.

Probably looney toons back in action game based on the movie. Having said that I loved it as a kid at the time but it's still probably the worst game I played and beat.
