The trick is to consider your uni degree as experience. This only works with real degrees I.E. STEM, Law, Accounting, Business, etc
If you dont have some fake degree like womans studies, aets degree with major in social justice, etc, youre gonna struggle to get a real job

That doesn't work. You need to have a degree plus job experience or an internship. But in order to get a job you need to have experience. But you can't get experience because nobody will give you a job because you don't have experience. It's stupid

Because all the older people's jobs got outsourced to China and India so employers for entry level positions ask for these people because they know they can get them.

Theyre just trying to weed out the non-serious or desperate applicants.

Also what can/does happen is that they'll have that (now) open position have a requirement like that because the last person who held that position was there that long. "Oh Joe was here for 15 years at this no experience/entry level position. Make the requirement 15 years so we can have a direct replacement for Joe!" Which completely disregards the fact the position is entry level

I did that after college, it's how I got my first industry contract.

I was in that program for two years and worked on a shitload of sets and edited a metric ass load of stuff.

be damned if none of that is gonna count.

Anyway, can't speak for every position obviously but in a lot of cases those experience requirements are just to weed out people. Even if you don't have the experience you should still at least apply.

Apply for it anyway, and be honest about your experience. It's unlikely they would get very many applicants with that level of experience, so they may call you in for an interview anyway. If they don't, you've lost nothing.

Job requirements in this country are as stupid as they are fucked up.
Even basic outlet store ones that use to be teenager summer job stuff want multiple years of experience and college. It's beyond stupid.

People can't find full time work anymore. Or work that pays good enough to live on. Medical insurance that's worth anything and that includes Obamacare which is shit too. Homes and apartments are beyond attainable for almost everyone. Taxes, taxes, taxes. People drowning in debt from college and said homes.
It's a system and way of life that's not sustainable. At some point this all falls apart. It has to. Idk in what way but something has to break and it's most likely going to be the people.

To my understanding some places don't care if you have a diploma or work experience within that field.
You take a test, and depending on how well you solve those clearly rigged questions will determine your position for the job or if you even qualified at all.

don't know about other fields, but there are a lot of companies out there that have a college graduate program that hires freshly graduated students for software engineering. some dont even require work experience or internships if your resume and interview skills are good enough.

they do, to some extent, have a pretty high hiring bar to weed out incompetent students.
