Sure, some of his posts aren't that bad, but when I think about who he is, it's disgusting on so many levels and I in no way want to associate with him. I'm probably even guilty of doing it sometimes, but I always feel like I should know better, as should most of PotD at this point

Duckbear is pretty ridiculous but I know very little about him as an actual person. From what I've seen (which is like a decade old video), he's probably pretty weird, but I don't know, even he must be laughing at the absurity of his whole shtick.

Realistically speaking, what sort of person they are in real life is generally immaterial to what sort of presence they have on this board, and their relative effect on it in positive/negative terms. Duckbear and his constant topic spamming (and the number of people who go out of their way to tongue his asshole for it) is way worse than anything Icoyar's ever really done here.

There's a reason why I have Duckbear blocked but not Ico.

And to be perfectly honest, I doubt Duckbear is laughing over his shtick. If anything, I think he's a person suffering from a genuine mental illness, who has no real idea how he's perceived or how unhealthy his behavior patterns are. He's just the message board version of someone writing long rambling web pages about Time Cubes.

it feels kinda pointless to talk about ico anymore, hes almost hyper-aware of how unpleasant he is as a person but consistently demonstrates no intention of doing anything about it

Well, that's part of the issue of people responding to him. I would ignore him, but it's pretty pointless when his posts become part of the conversation in a topic. At least Duckbear keeps his shit to his own topics, so he's easy to ignore without creating any awkward gaps. It would really be a huge improvement if the site would let you ignore only topics from somebody, but they've shot down that idea before.
