got like 20 moons from the desert kingdom and this game is boring.

Worlds are bland and boring with no substance.
Mario feels sluggish as hell and is annoying to control. (sideways jump, the goat jump, takes too much momentum to do in this game which ruins it)
Side scrolling parts are annoying.
Forced motion controls are lame. I went into the settings and turned them off, but I still have to shake the stupid thing to use super jumps and shit.
Incredibly linear.

sunshine is the best main 3d mario game.

That game had charm, character, great music, and immersive environments. I'm just not getting any immersion in this game. The music is bland, the environments are generic, and it's way too linear.

I can get used to a slow and sluggish mario even though it's annoying, but it's just so bland.

Eh, I'm enjoying it. But it feels like Super Mario 64 part 2.

Which, I dunno, maybe that's like a great thing for some people. So far it hasn't been bad. But at the same time it's nothing groundbreaking.

Like, I dunno. I might just be getting bored with video games. I want to say this isn't something worth buying a Switch exclusively for, but there hasn't been any major game I've felt was worth buying a PS4 or Xbox One for either so I'm not sure if that means anything.

And I've only just now gotten past the desert kingdom because I've been focusing on getting as many Moons as possible.

are you using a pro controller or the joycon? I noticed the joycon goes from no movement to full tilt very quickly so it feels kinda wonky if you're used to a full sized analog stick

if you're using a pro controller idk tho

I'm enjoying it a ton. I dunno why people expect some crazy overhaul, when taking over monsters and exploring large worlds is already pretty fucking new in a Mario series.

But yeah I think the moons could get annoying to get. I really like the motion controls, too. Reminds me of Galaxy

I've felt that way about Switch since it came out. Everyone was getting it just for Zelda and I was like, Is any game worth spending $360 to play? Nope. So I waited. Then Mario Kart 8 came out, and I'd never played it on WiiU because I never wanted a WiiU, but I waited still. Then Mario+Rabids almost got me to buy it, but I went to Disney World, so I waited. Mario Odyssey was, presumably, going to tip the scales, but now I'm not sure.

I mean, I really enjoyed Zelda and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. So like, I don't feel like my Switch has been a waste or anything.

I'm just like...well, this is a 3D Super Mario. I guess this is what I should have expected.

It's not bad. It's actually really good. It's just I'm not blown away so I'm not going to tell anyone to go out and buy it immediately.

I've put in about that many hours in BotW, so yeah, it's worth it. Nevermind that the game doesn't cost $360, that's the cost of the game plus the system, which allows you to play other games in the future. The initial cost of any new system is basically an investment in entertainment.

yeah

i doubt i can even finish the game. I'm in the lake kingdom and just swimming around as a fish in such a bland, boring and generic environment.

I have no desire at all to revisit past kingdoms to collect the remaining moons because they were awful. The only good one was the nightmare before christmas one because it actually had some charm to it.

It doesn't help that the game is pathetically easy.

It literally cost everyone $360 or more to play Zelda on the Switch. If you think I'm hating, I'm not, but my point is still valid regardless. I'm not sure if you feel attacked by my estimation, but it wasn't intended to be offensive. I just couldn't see any game being worth $360 to play. IF Mario Kart, Mario+Rabids, or Mario Odyssey came out that same day I'd think of it differently.

Sure, in the same way it literally costs everyone $60+(console price) to play any game on a new system. Or how, when I moved out of my parents house, it literally cost me "$800 to watch one dvd" because I bought a TV, DVD player, and one DVD to start my collection.

I mean, there's nothing wrong with waiting for a system to have a more substantial library before buying it. Hell, I always wait for a price drop before buying the current Playstation. But the "$360 Zelda" meme is silly for how myopic it is, and got old within the first week of launch. Again, the cost of any console is an investment. The game itself literally costs $60.

Who pissed in your cereal? You're very upset over a differing view than yours. Did it cost $360 or more to play Zelda on the Switch when they both first came out? Yes. That is a fact regardless of how much of an investment it was for the future. My point was that I didn't think Zelda was worth $360. I also said if other games I'd been wanting came out the same day then I'd see it differently because I'd get more options. Zelda is a $60 game if you already owned the Switch or a WiiU, but the majority of day one buyers got the Switch and Zelda at the same time. How much did that cost them again?

Take a walk and play BotW outside or something. It's not that serious.
