Just put in a good hour. I got like half of the moons in Cascade Kingdom and now I got like 4 moons in the Sand town. Digging the customization options and the amount of exploration. So far, yeah, it's easy as balls and the boss fights are underwhelming mechanics wise (though I like the designs of the bosses).

Might put in an hour before work tomorrow but I got so much shit to do..

Im at 92 moons. Cleared out Cap, Cascade, and Sand to the point where the Toad and Talkatoo stop giving hints (5-6 left). Ive noticed theres some stuff I simply cant access yet so Im assuming Ill have to come back. Wooded next.

That's my next destination, but I'm going back to gather more moons and coins. I feel like I load up on a massive amount, then check the list and it's not even half of them lol.

I gotta say, the greatest thing about this game so far is how relentlessly creative they were with moon placements. Ive done three kingdoms (including Cap) and Ive already had double digit what about... nah, theres no way theyd put one there, too crazy moments where there WAS one there.

Think my favorite was in Sand Kingdom: there was a conveyor belt of obstacles you had to guide a bullet bill through. I crossed the gap, paused, looked back, and out of sheer curiosity, I hopped in a bill and rode back and sat on the conveyor belt. Carried me into the abyss, except the abyss held a moon and a treasure trove of coins.

Its why Im glad death isnt too punishing the game encourages you to jump off a cliff in hopes of a soft landing.

Yeah theres definitely a ton of secrets.

A good example is the secret frog pond room in Cap Kingdom. Just when you think that was it, theres more. Oh but wait, theres more again.

Well before you get excited theres only two Moons as far as I know. But there is a hidden area with a bunch of coins. I just like how I assumed it was a one off Moon but in a hunch I looked around and kept finding stuff.

Some are blocked off until you reach certain points, but many of them are honestly just about finding the right secret path or hidden entrance.

Ive been wondering what exactly the cutoff is for hints. Maybe they stop giving hints when theyre no longer accessible at that point in the game? Keep running out with 5-6 left.

That one's pretty tricky. You have to hold Cappy with Y and do L/R + X and do a 64 pounce. I almost never pull that one off when it counts

Still in Sand Kingdom, think I'm gonna get all the Moons since apparently I need like 3-4 more and I have a basic idea of where they are. Really hating the Bullet Bill maze, can't control for shit.

I'm really surprised how varied the levels can be. Cascade was kinda meh though I didn't complete it, but there's so much shit in Sand Kingdom that I haven't found myself bored.

Also, is there any word on them making motion controls not necessary? It's kinda annoying that you can turn them off, but you lock out a good 1/4 of your moves just for playing handheld mode, which is the most convenient way for me to play and is a major reason I bought a Switch in the first place.

Tbh, I tried avoiding news so I could come in relatively surprised, so I didn't know how important motion controls we're going to be. I don't mind it though, and I have gotten really comfortable using dual-cons.

It is weird they lock out some moves as motion only when theres a bunch of unused buttons.

Yeah I love the motion controls. I'm doing so many crazy moves with them, and the homing attack is pretty important honestly. I feel like by the end of this game, I'm gonna be doing some crazy infinite loops.

But one thing I do have trouble with, it's the upward throw. Downward throw I have no problem with but it doesn't register upward throw very well. It's a good thing it's not really all that important most of the time
