Kids are assholes,man, if Teachers got to beat the shit out of them then maybe we wouldn't have the generation known as millennials or sjws and new age feminists plaguing the country. I fully support Teachers being able to dish out the punishment where it needs to be dished out along with all teachers being able to legally carry a gun in the classroom.

I'm not sure what it's like wherever that is but at the high school I went to, the assistant principals were allowed to do just about anything to restrain a student.

There was this really douchey, pseudo anarchist kid who was always stirring shit up with people. He started having some kind of episode one day and lashed out at everyone. One of the APs hit him over the head with a walkie talkie and knocked him out cold. It was hilarious.

If the boy was making a scene after he was escorted from the lunch line and did turn around and threaten the staff, then he deserved to get pinned to the ground and restrained.

If the staff was being too harsh and aggressive with the kid and he *wasn't* resisting, then fuck the staff and I'm glad the assistant principal resigned.

Either way I'm waiting until a more reliable account of the story comes out. Either from security cameras or something else. I don't trust the school staff to be honest, but I definitely don't trust a teenager and his mother to be truthful in a situation like this either.

If the story is "The student cut in line, we tried to escort him out, he dropped his bags turned on us and threatened us, he hit another teacher with some elbows (camera comes on) and then we pinned him to the ground" then how does the video dispute any of that?

You can't determine the cause of a situation by a short video clip taken halfway through the encounter.

What you have is video proof of the last part of the confrontation. There is nothing in that video that shows the kid cutting in line, or him being escorted out by staff.

Show me a video where the kid is walking out peacefully and the staff attacks him for no reason and I'll be glad to back you up. In fact I *want* to back you up if this kid was unfairly targeted. But all this video shows is that a kid got pinned to the floor, possibly after he was attacking staff or acting unreasonably.

Notice they never show the video from before the part the teacher intervened, to me that's a big red flag that the paper is trying to push a narrative.

To be frank if a kid is been violent the teacher should have the right to intervene with violence if necessary.

They probably don't have a video of that--why would anyone take their camera phone out to record footage of a regular day when nothing's happening? Cameras almost always come out AFTER the fight has started.

...Principal probably would have mentioned that if it was the case. He did mention the boy throwing elbows and punches at he and another teacher and that's where I assumed the assault charges came from. Possibly from shoving other students while he was being escorted out, as the article also says.

But "he was beating the shit out of someone before the principal came" seems to be completely created in your mind.

Doesn't make a lot of sense. If the assistant principal is escorting someone out and the student becomes violent, it's ridiculous to expect to wait for security to arrive and just let the kid do whatever he wants until then. Staff members have a right to protect themselves and the rest of the student body when a student becomes belligerent.
